The AOT Provost 2 is the new and improved version of the best heat management solution for foiled bowl sessions. The Apple on Top Provost heat controller works on any bowl that uses foil. The stainless steel device distributes and retains heat to prevent pre mature burning of your shisha tobacco.
AOT Provost Function
The coal tray and the vented hood each offer a silicone grip for easy portability when the device is hot. The vented hood helps retain heat during bowl warm up and when your coals begin to die down. You can either open the hood vents or remove the wind guard completely if your bowl becomes hot. The coal tray does the rest of the work by distributing the charcoals heat evenly over the foil covering your shisha head. The added stainless steel layer slows down the movement of heat into the flavour to prevent the top portion cooking faster than the bottom portion. Due to this, it is best to use a heavy duty foil to assist in the slow transfer of heat entering your tobacco. The AOT Provost 2 can be used indoors as well as outdoors; thanks to its vented hood serving as a dual purpose wind guard.
We recommend poking about 2-3 rows of holes into your foil and then adjusting based off your outcome. There is no perfect method to poking your foil and there are various methods people use to achieve similar results. The most important recipe to a great session is a good quality bowl and proper packing methods. Make sure to use the correct density for your type of tobacco. This prevents the pre mature cooking of your flavour. Without the proper packing skills, the most expensive bowl and heat management set up will not provide the value the user was expecting. Now that you have your bowl packed, its time to start smoking. Place 2-3 coconut charcoal cubes on the coal tray directly over your foiled head. Install the wind guard with the vents turned to the closed position. Wait 5 minutes and then open the vents to the open position and begin to smoke. If you are in a hot environment or notice your smoke is too harsh, you can remove the wind guard all together. Ash your coals occasionally and return the wind guard as they begin to die down or as your clouds become less dense. For longer sessions, start prepping a second round of coals around 45 minutes into your session.
